BRAINATION Welcomes New Deputy Superintendent

Ken WhittKen Whitt, Ph.D. joins BRAINATION, Inc. and our charter school network, Inspire Academies, as deputy superintendent. In his new role, Whitt will help oversee the district’s community-based school, Anne Frank Inspire Academy, as well as BRAINATION’s seven residential schools. With more than 18 years in education, Whitt brings a solid knowledge base of educational systems to BRAINATION’s robust team of scholastic thought leaders.

“Dr. Whitt is a strong addition to our BRAINATION team,” said Bruce Rockstroh, BRAINATION CEO. “We strive to prepare our students for the future and develop into well-rounded contributors in society. Ken’s creative approach to curriculum, focus on technology, and exceptional organizational and leadership skills will help move our schools forward and prepare our students for a great future.”

Anne Frank Inspire Academy includes kindergarten through 12th grade students and a dynamic curriculum in a contemporary, state-of-the-art school setting. BRAINATION’s residential schools serve at-risk students with extraordinary educational resources preparing them to successfully integrate back into traditional schools and society.

Prior to BRAINATION, Whitt served as a public school district assistant superintendent and executive director of curriculum and instruction, as well as director of curriculum for six school districts in an education cooperative. He’s also spent many years in the classroom as a middle school and high school teacher for both urban and rural school districts. Additionally, Whitt taught future school leaders in numerous leadership courses at the graduate level.

“I’ve had a long and successful career in education, but joining BRAINATION is truly an exciting milestone for me,” said Dr. Whitt. “Their forward-thinking is refreshing. With less emphasis on mastering tests and more on hands-on learning, students are acquiring life and leadership skills that will lead them to success in college and beyond.”

Whitt earned his doctorate from Texas A&M University, as well as a bachelor’s and two master’s degrees from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. He is a published author with his dissertation research on superintendent self-efficacy published in the “Journal of School Leadership.”

Welcome to our BRAINATION family, Ken! We feel privileged to have you join the team.
