Head of School - International Academy of San Antonio
Meet our new IASA Head of School!
Raul Hinojosa III, Ed.L.D. is a visionary and innovative school leader. He has been a school administrator for over 20 years, including as both an elementary and middle school principal. He helped establish a new school with over 1200 students, has been an academic dean, and has served on campus accreditation teams.
Dr. Hinojosa has seven years of experience internationally, including schools in Costa Rica, Kazakhstan (with Chevron employees), and Qatar. He has also created an international teacher-recruiting program.
Our new head of school is fluent in English and Spanish and has been a pioneer in dual language (two-way immersion) for both students and adults. “I am excited to bring a tri-language program to the International Academy of San Antonio,” he says. “The main language will be English, but we will also aid students in the acquisition of Spanish and with learning the essential language of the 21st century, coding.”
Dr. Hinojosa holds a B.S. degree from Texas A&M, M.Ed. degrees in bilingual education/ESL and administration & supervision, and a doctor of education in educational leadership from Sam Houston State University. He is an Eagle Scout and has served as a board member of the Association of Hispanic School Administrators, on the State Advisory Committee for the Texas Consortium for Dual Language, and was recently inducted into the Tyrus R. Timm Honor Registry for leadership and service at Texas A&M.
